Invii was a restaurant management platform built to explore how software could modernize day-to-day operations. As frontend lead from February 2021 to October 2023, I owned the interfaces for a suite of tools intended to streamline internal work, improve customer engagement, and create a more connected payment and reporting experience for restaurants.
Role & Responsibilities
I led frontend development across the Invii landing page, internal dashboard, and customer-facing web application, taking each from first prototype through production. I also designed and implemented the brand identity and shaped the interfaces around the needs of the business.
I worked closely with a small cross-functional team spanning design and backend, building responsive, accessible interfaces that held up across devices and browsers. Keeping the frontend close to how restaurants actually worked shaped the platform around the real constraints of the business.
Platform Design
The product brought restaurant operations into a single dashboard with real-time analytics, reporting, inventory management, staff scheduling, financial tracking, and forecasting. Customer-facing features included digital menu management, feedback collection, loyalty program integration, automated marketing, and customer relationship management.
The goal was not simply to add another set of administrative screens. Invii was designed as a shared operating layer that could connect internal decisions with the customer experience, giving restaurant teams a clearer view of how staffing, inventory, payments, and engagement affected one another.
Technical Implementation
The frontend used React.js and Next.js with TailwindCSS for responsive interfaces and cross-platform compatibility. The backend was built with Python, with Supabase providing database services. Stripe integration supported payment workflows, while the broader architecture emphasized secure data handling, API-first design, scalable cloud infrastructure, and real-time synchronization.
Achievements & Team
Invii produced a deployed full-stack restaurant management platform, a complete brand and marketing direction, and a pilot program agreement with a Philadelphia restaurant. The project also established a scalable technical foundation and created a clearer understanding of the operational needs of the restaurant industry.
The core team included Brandon Saldan as frontend lead and Mustafa Mohamed as CTO, backend developer, and technical architect. Additional contributors supported development and design as the platform grew.
Outcome & Status
The three-year project provided deep experience in restaurant technology, product strategy, and modern business operations. It ultimately achieved its goal of creating an all-in-one restaurant management platform, with a codebase approaching 100,000 lines of code.
Operations concluded in January 2025.
